Pipsessiwa is from a Cree word, and is a small plant in the wintergreen family (Chimaphila umbellata . Also known as prince's pine. It is a partial heterotroph, getting some of its energy from the sun via the chlorophyll in its leaves, and some from its association with the fungi on its roots. Many cultures used it to treat a varitey of ailments. This one was in the Grand Teton Natinoal Park, WY
